BLANCHESTER — The bottom of the seventh inning proved to be too much for the Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs, Monday at BHS.
LC (0-1) dropped their season and non-league opener to the Blanchester Wildcats, 7-6, as LC walked eight batters, with three free passes turning into runs in the seventh inning.
Terry Campbell was the starting pitcher for LC, gaining the no-decision after going five complete innings. Wesley Pierson was charged with the loss for the Mustangs, pitching two innings.
Ryan Doss had three RBIs for LC, but hit into three fielder's choice plays for the runs.
LC will play again on Tuesday, March 29 as they host the North Adams Green Devils.[[In-content Ad]]
