Being held to two hits in five innings, the Division I Southern Hills Athletic Conference champion Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs saw their season come to a close on Saturday.

The Mustangs (13-10) fell to the Waverly Tigers, 11-1 in their Division III SE District Sectional Final game at Waverly.

LC scored their lone run in the fifth inning when Kendall Vilvens crossed home plate. He and teammate Andrew Reuss had the two lone hits in the game for the Mustangs. Lynchburg-Clay also had one walk forced by Blake Croy.

What hampered the chances of LC's bid to return to the district round of the postseason were errors, with the team committing seven in the loss.
