McLaurin named USCAA Div. I Player of the Week

The United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) announced for the week of Feb. 12 the men’s basketball Division I Player of the Week is Southern State freshman  Martise McLaurin.

McLaurin scored 71 points for the week, while collecting 36 rebounds and 24 blocks in a 3-0 week, including a triple-double with 31 points, 15  rebounds and 12 blocks at Denison University.

SSCC is currently 22-3 overall with one regular season game remaining, a home game on Wednesday, Feb. 20 at 6 p.m.

This is the second time SSCC has had a USCAA Player of the Week this season, as Brandon Whitlock also earned the honor.[[In-content Ad]]
