McDonald, Mootispaw earn spot in Division II Regionals

RIO GRANDE — Two McClain cross country runners are headed to the Division II Regional meet with top performances during the Division II SE District meet at Rio Grande, Saturday.

McClain's Jon McDonald, a junior, finished second out of 154 runners to earn a spot in the regional meet next Saturday. McDonald finished with a time of 16:58.20. The district winner was Adrian Ross, a Unioto junior, with a time of 16:19.74.

Caleb Mootispaw, a McClain junior, finished in seventh with a time of 17:28.61 to make the regional meet.

As a team, the Tigers finished in eighth place with a total team time of 1:38:01.76. Hillsboro finished at 1:42:12.17 in 12th place.

Washington's Rob King was sixth with a time of 17:25.78.
