McClain sweeps swim meet vs. HHS, CHS

The McClain boys and girls swimming teams won their respective tri-meet on Saturday morning as they swam past Hillsboro and Chillicothe at McClain High School.
In the girls meet, MHS won with 97 points, followed by Chillicothe with 91 and Hillsboro in third at 64.
The boys meet was won by McClain with a score of 125 points. Hillsboro was second at 67 points, and in third was Chillicothe at 62.
For the girls, the 200-yard medley relay was won by the HHS (A) team as Amie Griffith, Ali McKenna, Syndi Cox and Greta Rossman won with a time of 2:27.53. In third was the MHS (A) team of Kaylee Smith, Amber Sowders, Morgan Dettwiller and Anna Ehlers at 2:29.15.
Dettwiller (MHS) won the 200-yard freestyle event at 2:29.28. Dettwiller also won the 500-yard freestyle event with a time of 6:55.00.
In the 200-yard individual medley, Griffith (HHS) was first at 3:06.65, and in third was Lindsey Parsons (MHS) at 3:24.34.
Ehlers (MHS) was second in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of :32.81.
Parsons (MHS) was third in the 100-yard freestyle at 1:19.47.
The 200-yard freestyle relay was won by the MHS (A) relay team consisting of Sowders, Ehlers, Alyssa Faulconer and Dettwiller at 2:06.88. In second was the HHS (A) relay team of Griffith, McKenna, Cox and Rossman at 2:10.18, and in third was the MHS (B) relay team of Kayla Mosley, Smith, Taylor Wheaton and Parsons at 2:29.62.
The 100-yard backstroke was won by Hillsboro's Cox (1:19.38), with second place going to Griffith (HHS) at 1:29.25. In third was Victoria Rolfe (MHS) at 1:34.00.
In the 100-yard breaststroke, Sowders (MHS) was second at 1:28.37, and in third was McKenna (HHS) with a time of 1:33.93.[[In-content Ad]]
In the 400-yard freestyle relay event, the MHS (A) relay team of Ehlers, Mosley, Faulconer and Sowders were second with a time of 5:21.10. In third was the MHS (B) relay team of Rolfe, Brittany Caskey, Wheaton and Smith at 5:49.81.

In the boys meet, the HHS (A) relay team of Paul Burton, Guy Bailey, Nathan Boone and Braden Wildey were second in the 200-yard medley relay at 2:11.93. In third was the MHS (A) relay team of Tommy Free, Aaron Litteral, Adomas Fabin and Tommy Henry with a time of 2:12.57.
The 200-yard freestyle event was won by Free (MHS) at 2:13.16.
In the 200-yard individual medley, Boone (HHS) was first at 2:38.22. In second was Litteral (MHS) at 2:52.75, and in third was Bailey (HHS) at 3:34.32.
Fabin (MHS) won the 50-yard freestyle with a time of :26.04, while Wildey (HHS) was third at :27.06.
Bailey (HHS) won the 100-yard butterfly at 1:40.90. In second was Ryan Page (MHS) at 1:42.50, and Storm Faulconer (MHS) was third at 2:04.20.
In the 100-yard freestyle, Boone (HHS) was first at 1:00.00, and in second was Henry (MHS) at 1:01.60.
The 500-yard freestyle was won by Free (MHS) at 6:10.63, followed by Jonathon Fletcher (HHS) in third at 8:11.41.
The 200-yard freestyle relay was won by the MHS (A) relay team of Henry, Mottie, Free and Fabin at 1:49.38. In second was the HHS (A) relay team of Boone, Wildey, Burton and Phillip Hall at 1:53.63.
Burton (HHS) won the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:24.09. In second was Trace Poore (MHS) at 1:39.56, and in third was Brandon Adams (MHS) at 2:08.53. Third place in the 100-yard breaststroke went to Page (MHS) at 1:30.06.
The 400-yard freestyle relay top spot went to the MHS (A) relay team of Fabin, Mottie, Litteral and Poore at 4:43.69. In second was the MHS (B) relay team of Ryan Wilkin, Adams, Faulconer and Bryan Riley at 5:36.09.
