Mangus earns 1st place finish at Chillicothe Invitational

CHILLICOTHE — Fairfield sophomore Michael Mangus earned a first-place and two second-place finishes at the 2012 Chillicothe Cavaliers Invitational.
Mangus placed first in the 3200-meter run with a time of 9:49.18, as the second-place finisher had a time of 9:55.66.
Mangus' individual second-place finish was in the 1600m run with a time of 4:33.50.
As part of the boys 4x400m relay team, Mangus, along with Matthew Leach, John Cain and Dustin Willey finished with a time of 3:44.37 for second place.
As a team, the Lions finished in eighth place with 27.50 points. Winning the boys meet was Unioto with 109 points.
In the boys discus event, Dustin Fetters was eighth with a throw of 93-10.
[[In-content Ad]]In the girls' long jump event, Brenna Simmons had a distance of 11-05.50 for 16th, and Alyssa Gibson was 17th at 10-07.50. Simmons had a time of 6:54.24 in the 1600m run.
The boys' high jump saw Leach with a jump of 5-06.00 for fifth place. In the boys' shot put, Wesley Willey was 12th with a throw of 30-00.25, and Fetters was 13th at 29-10.00.
Roshell Boles had a time of 14.82 in the girls' 100m dash for the Lady Lions, and in the boys' 100m dash, Aaron Lucas finished with a time of 12.78. Lucas had a time of 1:01.75 in the boys' 400m dash.
Cain finished 11th in the boys' 1600m run at 5:33.00, and in the 800m run, he had a time of 2:26.12 for 11th.
In the girls' 4x100m relay, the Lady Lions finished in 11th with a time of 1:08.52 from the team of Caylin Franks, Caitlin Jones, Boles and Simmons.
