Lynchburg-Clay's Cory Snider selected 1st-team All-Ohio

Lynchburg-Clay junior Cory Snider was selected to the 2015 Ohio High School Baseball Coaches Association All-Ohio team as a first-team selection for his play during the 2015 season.
Snider was a member of the 2015 Division I Southern Hills Athletic Conference champion team that finished 9-4 in the conference and 13-10 overall.
The LC infielder is just the second Lynchburg-Clay player to ever be selected OHSBCA All-Ohio, the first being Joe Wells in 1998.
"Cory is very deserving of the honor," LC baseball head coach Garyn Waits said. "I'm extremely proud of his accomplishments. He has displayed his skill and continues to hone his craft.
"He would be the first to say that it couldn't have happened without his teammates, and I truly believe that is the case. He loves the game and is always taking his reps."
The play of Snider included a .493 batting average, along with a .554 on-base percentage and .695 slugging percentage. His OPS was 1.250.

In 23 games this season with LC, Snider had 69 at-bats (83 plate appearances) where he totaled 34 hits, 24 runs and 20 RBIs. Of his 34 hits, five were doubles, three went for triples, and he also hit one home run.
Snider was hit by a pitch twice, walked 10 times and struck out just five times all season. The junior also had two sacrifices. On the base, he tallied 17 stolen bases on 17 attempts.
For his three-year LC career, Snider is batting .473 with 104 hits, 77 runs and 56 RBIs. His three-year on-base percentage is .531, and his career slugging percentage currently stands at .631. In three years, Snider is 45-of-48 on stolen base attempts.
"Now we just have to sit down and talk about next year and beyond for him," Waits said. "He should be in for some exciting times coming up."
