Lions, Mustangs compete at Andy Haines Invitational

BAINBRIDGE — Fairfield sophomore Michael Mangus led the Fairfield Lions track & field team at the Andy Haines Invitational Thursday at Paint Valley High School.
Mangus, who reached the state tournament in cross-country this season, was the winner of the 3200m run with a time of 9:55.90 and the 1600m with a first-place time of 4:43.90, Thursday.
Overall, in the boys meet, the Lions finished in sixth place with 50 points, and the Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs were seventh with 43 points. The meet was won by Zane Trace with 144 points.
In the girls meet, ZT was the winner with 149.50 points. LC finished in fifth place with 61 points, and FHS was seventh with 10 points.
