BLANCHESTER — The Fairfield Lions were unable to gain a road win Monday evening, dropping a non-league game to the Blanchester Wildcats, 10-5 at BHS.
The Lions have lost four of their past five games, now standing at 10-9 overall, with a Southern Hills League record of 5-5 on the year.
FHS scored their five runs in three consecutive innings, with a two-run third, one-run fourth and two-run fifth inning.
Blanchester tied the game in the bottom of the third, then added five runs in the fourth, along with one run in the fifth and two more runs in the sixth for their 10-run total.
BHS finished with 13 hits but committed seven errors. FHS tallied six hits with two errors.
The winning pitcher was Kyle Campbell for the Wildcats. He pitched five innings, allowing five runs (two earned) on six hits and two walks, while striking out five. At the plate, Campbell was 3-for-3 with one walk.
Dallas Denham pitched two innings of relief for BHS. He allowed no hits in the final two innings, with no walks and three strikeouts.
