Lewis scores 24 as LC defeats Lady Warriors

SARDINIA — The Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs won their second consecutive game on Thursday with a 58-30 win against the Eastern Brown Lady Warriors.
The score was close after the first half with LC leading 16-11 while building a halftime lead of 28-13 after scoring 12 points and their defense holding EB to two points.
In the third, LC (3-3) outscored the Lady Warriors 17-13, and in the fourth, LC won the quarter 13-4.
Leading LC was junior Laney Lewis with 24 points. Lewis scored 11 two-point buckets, while collecting 15 rebounds (for a double-double), four blocked shots, four steals and two assists.
Emma Setty followed with 13 points, four rebounds, three steals and one assist.
Also for LC, Brooke Hertlein had eight points, nine rebounds, one assist and one steal.
Karen Hilt scored seven points, including one 3-pointer, with four assists, three rebounds, one steal. Morgan Fittro scored four points (three steals, two rebounds), and Madysyn Creighton scored two points (three rebounds, two assists).
Sarah Rosselott and Ashley Tenas each had one rebound.
LC finished with 25 two-point baskets and went 5-of-11 from the free-throw line.
The Lady Mustangs will play again on Monday, Dec. 19 when they host the Peebles Lady Indians.
