LC scores 77 in win at West Union

WEST UNION — Lynchburg-Clay Laney Lewis has been on point this season. In fact, she nearly gained her second consecutive triple-double as the LC Lady Mustangs easily defeated the West Union Lady Dragons 77-35.
The Thursday night Southern Hills Athletic Conference win by LC (1-0, 3-0) was led by Lewis, who totaled a game-high 31 points with 15 points coming in the first quarter. She added 16 more points in the second half.
Lewis also totaled nine rebounds and eight steals and added with two assists in the win. Three games into the season, the senior has totaled 74 points. At WUHS, Lewis made one 3-pointer and was 2-of-2 from the free-throw line.
The win wasn't all Lewis as LC led 28-7 after the first quarter and 41-19 at the half. LC added 20 points in the third and 16 more in the last eight minutes of regulation while holding WU to 16 points in the second half.
Ali Little earned a double-double by finishing with 12 points and 11 rebounds. She also collected three steals, one block and one assist.
Shelby Stewart celebrated the win with seven points (one 3-pointer), two rebounds, two assists, one steal and one blocked shot.
Madysyn Creighton finished with six points, along with two rebounds, and two steals. Also scoring six points was Sarah Rosselott as she added four rebounds and one block. Emma Setty also had six points (four rebounds, one steal).

Ginny Gadzinski totaled three points off a 3-pointer with two rebounds, one steal and one assist.
Morgan Fittro finished with two points (one rebound, two assists, four steals). Madison Willis finished with two points and four rebounds. Also scoring two points was Sarah Spidel, who also had one rebound and one steal.
Ryleigh Jackson had one rebound and one steal.
The Lady Mustangs totaled three 3-pointers, 41 rebounds (31 offensive), eight assists, 22 steals and three blocks. LC also had 17 turnovers.
LC will play again on Monday, Dec. 3 at Eastern Brown.
