LC falls to Williamsburg, 3-2

It was a rare loss for the Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs Tuesday evening as they fell 3-2 to Williamsburg in a non-league game at LCHS.
Before the match even started, things didn't go in favor of the host team as LC senior keeper Emma Setty was injured and unable to play in the match.
From there, the match was close throughout as it was a 2-2 score at the half, with the loss sending LC to an overall mark of 8-2. LC has a 5-0 record in the Southern Hills League.
"This is a tough loss," LC coach Dennis West said. "We lost our keeper in warmups, but the girls played hard, and we will move on."

For Williamsburg, Alyssa Donthnier scored two goals, once tying the score at 1-1, then putting her team ahead 2-1 as she scored goals on a direct kick at the 13:26 mark from 25 yards out, and her second goal sailed 20 yards into the back of the net.
Taylor Scott scored both LC goals in the first half, one giving LC a 1-0 lead at the 31:25 mark off a cross kick by Brandi Hunter for the assist. The second goal came with 10 seconds left in the first half off a pass by Hunter.
Olivia May put Williamsburg ahead with 13:36 left in regulation as she beat the defender.
At goal for WHS was Mallory Guess with nine saves, and for LC, Caitlin Davidson totaled seven saves as LC outshot their opponent, 14-10.
LC will host Fairfield Wednesday.
