LC cross-country finish in 2nd at Ripley

The Lynchburg-Clay cross-country team raced to a second-place finish on Saturday at Ripley.

Winning the meet was Mason County (Ky.) with 39 points, followed by LC at 67. In third was Pendleton County at 69. They were followed by North Adams (112), Fayetteville (114), Ripley (128) and Manchester (170). (The event had 12 schools, with seven full teams scoring in the meet.)

Leading LC were Quinn Stoltz in third and Noah Stoltz in fourth place.

In the girls run, Laney Lewis finished in eighth place.

Others competing for the Mustangs were: (girls) Alyssa Greene, Emily Roush and Ginny Gadzinski, and for the boys Aaron Collins, Aaron Little, Colt Dunseith, Justin Gray and Kevin Young.

The LC middle school girls finished in third place, and the boys finished in fifth.

The middle school boys medalist for LC was Brandon McCammon in sixth, and the girls medalists included Angela McLaughlin (third) and Shelby Chisman (fifth).
