Lady Tigers top Lady Red Raiders for SCOL win

LONDON — The McClain Lady Tigers dominated the first half and cruised in the final two quarters, defeating the London Red Raiders, 54-29 Friday night at LHS. The win was McClain's third South Central Ohio League win of the season.
The Lady Tigers outscored their league foe, 24-12 in the first two quarters, holding the host team to six points in each quarter, while scoring 14 in the first and 10 in the second quarter.
MHS won the third frame, 20-7 and wrapped up the game with each team scoring 10 in the final eight minutes.
The Lady Tigers (3-1, 5-1) were led in scoring by senior Chrissy Cobb with a game-high 15 points. Jenna Perie followed with 10 points and Sammy Rooks had eight.
Frankie Wise finished with six points, and fellow senior Megan Hogle had five. Brittany Mullikin and Taylor Faulconer each scored three points for the Lady Tigers. Makenzie Olaker and Kate Crabtree each scored two points.
The Lady Tigers were 12-of-23 from the free-throw line, while LHS went 8-of-17.
MHS was 20-of-63 for 32 percent shooting, while tallying 40 rebounds. Perie gained a double-double by adding a team-high 10 boards to her scoring totals. Cobb led MHS with four of their 16 total steals, as MHS forced 32 LHS turnovers. MHS committed 14 turnovers of their own.
London shot 10-of-41 from the floor for the game.
The win lifts MHS to 5-1 overall, 3-1 in the SCOL. LHS falls to 1-3 overall and 0-3 in the SCOL.
McClain will play again on Thursday, Dec. 23 at Adena, a non-league game.
