Lady Tigers rally for win to end regular season

The McClain Lady Tigers were down in their regular-season finale Monday night, but they weren't out, as they rallied in the second half to defeat visiting Madison-Plains, 56-47.
The South Central Ohio League win at McClain High School put the Lady Tigers at 11-11 after their first 22-game regular season and sixth consecutive win of the season.
MHS finishes third in the league standings at 8-6.
The opening eight minutes of the quarter weren't kind to the Lady Tigers, as MP took a 14-3 lead, and at halftime the Lady Golden Eagles were ahead, 28-13 after a second frame of outscoring the hosts, 14-10.
Then after all that wasn't right in the first half came a reversal of fortunes in the final 16 minutes as MHS totaled 46 points in the final two quarters, outscoring MP 20-5 in the third (tying the score with 41.6 left in the quarter) and 23-14 in the fourth for the nine-point win.

Leading MHS was Shania Massie with 30 points. Massie was 16-of-21 from the free-throw line.
Tara Karnes followed with 12 points and 14 rebounds for a double-double, her 11th of the season.
Sarah Thompson totaled nine points and 10 rebounds. Lauren Rayburn totaled four points, and Katy Unger finished with one point.
MHS was 25-of-33 from the free-throw line for the game, as they also totaled 42 team rebounds, 12 steals and seven assists.
The Lady Tigers shot 14-of-52 from the field, while MP was 17-of-49. MP also totaled 19 rebounds and 12 steals and went 8-of-10 from the free-throw line.
Both teams had 20 or more turnovers, and MP ended with 24 fouls, as six players had four fouls each. MHS committed 11 fouls, as they move to 16-6 on the season.
Leading MP were Abby Finney with 17 points and Casey Knisley with 13 points. Also in double figures was Kaylin Dill with 10.
