Lady Tiger volleyball ousted by Washington

The McClain Lady Tiger volleyball team had their season come to an end Wednesday night as they were defeated by the No. 1 seeded Washington Lady Blue Lions in three straight sets at Washington Senior High School.

The No. 8 seeded Lady Tigers lost by scores of 25-6, 25-17 and 25-10 as it was the third time this year MHS lost to their South Central Ohio League counterpart.

MHS finishes the season with six wins with an overall record of 6-15. MHS was 1-1 in the sectional tournament and defeated New Lexington in five sets on Monday at MHS.

Seniors for MHS, who played in their final match were: Lori Shonkwiler, Makenzie Olaker and Brittany Stith.

WCH will play in the district semifinals on Wednesday, Oct. 24 at 6 p.m. at Southeastern High School against No. 4 seeded Unioto, who defeated Gallia Academy (a No. 5 seed) in three sets Wednesday.
