Lady Tiger soccer defeats London 5-0

     LONDON – The McClain Lady Tiger soccer team are winners in the South Central Ohio League.

     On Thursday night, at London High School, the Lady Tigers defeated the Lady Red Raiders 5-0 for their first ever SCOL victory.

     The second half belonged to McClain as they outscored LHS by five goals.

     Sammy Rooks started the scoring for MHS with the first two goals of the second half.

     Senior Sarah Upp then netted the next two goals for the Lady Tigers to increase the MHS lead to 4-0.

     Christy Weller scored the final goal of the game for MHS.

     All the MHS goals were scored in the first 20 minutes of the second half.

     MHS coach Darrell Upp stated Megan Hogle and Alyssa Anderson played excellent Thursday.

     “Everyone played well,” Upp said. “We controlled every aspect of the game and every contributed.”

     Taylor Faulconer had the shut out at keeper for the Lady Tigers.

     “I’m excited for them,” Upp said. “This season we have improved in everything.”

     This was the second win for the Lady Tigers this season as they defeated North Adams earlier this year at VA Memorial Stadium in Chillicothe.
