Lady Patriots fall to OU-Lancaster

HILLSBORO — Unable to fend off the offensive attack by Ohio University-Lancaster, the Southern State Lady Patriots dropped a home game Saturday, 92-59 at the Patriot Center.
SSCC trailed 44-26 after the first half and were outscored 48-32 in the second half.
Leading SSCC was Emily Hoop with a team-high 22 points. Hoop sank four 3-pointers and four two-point baskets. She also tallied two free throws.
Breanna Knauff scored 18 for SSCC, going 4-of-6 from the free-throw line and seven two-point baskets.
Jessica Sexton scored 10 points for the Lady Patriots, including two 3-pointers. Caitlin Davis scored nine points in the loss. She was 3-of-3 from the free-throw line, along with three two-point buckets.
SSCC finished 9-of-16 from the foul line and made a total of six 3-pointers, four in the second half.
Leading OU-Lancaster was Carlisha Mullins with a game-high 24 points. A total of five OU-L players scored at least 13 points. Jordan Lyday added 18 points.
Bernadette Henry and Chelsea Eccard each scored 14 points for the away team. Jessica Cordle scored 13 points for OU-L. Also scoring in the winning effort was Jenna Reynolds with nine points.
