DODSONVILLE — For what is now Lynchburg-Clay's seventh consecutive win of the season, the 50-33 Southern Hills Athletic Conference win over the Manchester Lady Greyhounds might not only be their latest win, but possibly the most difficult in that span.
"This was a tough game, and the score doesn't tell how close the game was," LC head coach Whitney Lewis said. "Our home crowd and band really helped us pull this one out."
The wins in the seven-game streak include victories over West Union, Hillsboro, Whiteoak, Paint Valley, Fairfield, Peebles and Manchester.
In the seven-game win streak, LC has outscored their opponents 385-256, averaging 55 points per game, while allowing 36.5 ppg.
LC (7-2, 12-2) trailed following the completion of the first eight minutes of play by a 14-13 score but held the visitors to one point in the second frame, while scoring seven points of their own, gaining a halftime advantage of 20-15.

The Lady Mustangs increased their lead in the third with 13 points, while again holding Manchester to single digits with an eight-point frame.
Entering the fourth frame with a 33-23 lead, LC outscored Manchester 17-10 to end the game.
Of the 50 points scored, over half were tallied by senior Laney Lewis as the standout totaled a double-double with 30 points and 19 rebounds (10 offensive). She added five steals, two blocks and one assist.
From the field, Lewis shot 42 percent, and from the free-throw line, she went 5-of-8.
Fellow senior Emma Setty was next in scoring with seven points. She was 3-of-5 from the free-throw line with five rebounds, two steals and one assist.
Also scoring points for LC were Morgan Fittro with three, Ali Little with five (she added nine rebounds), Sarah Rosselott with two and Madison Wills with three points.
As a team, LC shot 24 percent from the field and 57 percent from the free-throw line at 11-of-19. The Lady Mustangs totaled 43 rebounds, 15 steals, five assists and two blocks. LC committed 17 fouls and 24 turnovers.
LC will play again on Saturday, Jan. 12 as they host Blanchester, and on Tuesday, Jan. 15 when they host the McClain Lady Tigers.
