Lady Mustangs finish season; fall to Unioto in districts

JACKSON — The Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs soccer team ended their postseason run in the Division II SE District tournament Wednesday night, falling to the Unioto Lady Shermans, 1-0 at Jackson High School.
LC, a No. 2 seed (12-6-1), was held scoreless in the physical district semifinal match.
The lone UHS goal was scored in the first half by Jenny Campbell. Unioto plays in the Scioto Valley Conference, now with an overall record of 15-1-2 overall. UHS defeated Fairfield-Union, 2-0 to reach the district round.
UHS will play in the district semifinals on Saturday, Oct. 30 against the Eastern Brown Lady Warriors, who defeated the Circleville Lady Tigers, 1-0 Wednesday following the LC-UHS game at Jackson High School. The district final will be played at Jackson High School. Both teams are No. 1 in their bracket of the districts.
LC finishes their season with a sectional title and a second-place finish in the Southern Hills League.
