DODSONVILLE — The Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs tallied four hits, but that wasn't enough on Wednesday night as they lost to the North Adams Lady Green Devils, 3-1.

The Southern Hills Athletic Conference contest was a home game for the Lady Green Devils, though it was played at the home of the Lady Mustangs due to adverse field conditions due to recent weather.

For the Lady Mustangs (1-3, 3-6), they had one run in the game, the first run to cross the plate in the SHAC contest, as Madysyn Creighton scored a run on an infield error.

Creighton reached the bases with a one-out double and followed that up by stealing third base, eventually scoring on the error. Creighton finished the night 1-for-3.

As a team, LC collected five hits.

"We didn't hit the ball as well (Wednesday) as we did the day before," LC head coach Heather Brown said. "We left a lot of girls on base."

Leading LC at the plate was Hannah Binkley at 2-for-3 (one double in the sixth inning) and one stolen base.

Also with a hit was Lexi Waits, a single in the fifth inning. MyKenzie Reynolds also had a base hit for LC.

The inning where LC threatened to score more runners was in the third where Reynolds led off with a single but was later out on a fielder's choice. Binkley singled in the inning with two outs, but was left on the bases.

In the sixth, Binkley, again, was left stranded on the bases following a one-out double.

McKayla Binkley was charged with the loss.

"McKayla pitched well and made a nice play catching a line drive hit right to her, setting up a double play at first," Brown said.

NA's runs were scored in the third inning with a solo home run by Jade Spriggs, and in the fourth where two more runs scored with Bourger and Crews scored runs.

On Tuesday, LC won by a 11-1 score over Ripley in five innings. In that game, LC was led at the plate by Creighton at 3-for-4 with three runs.

For the game, LC totaled 10 hits, with the other multi-hit game from Hayley McConnaughey at 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

"The game against Ripley helped our team chemistry a lot," Brown said. "We were really down after the last couple losses, but the girls were very positive after the Ripley win.

"That chemistry showed (Wednesday) against North Adams. We played well in the field, compared to other games we've had."
