Lady Mustangs dominate Huntington; Lewis collects triple-double

CHILLICOTHE — A 19-0 first quarter by Lynchburg-Clay set the tone and began what was a 63-22 victory over Huntington High School.
In what is becoming a trend, senior Laney Lewis led LC in scoring with 17 points while adding 14 rebounds and 13 steals for a triple-double.
In the first game of the season, she had a double-double. Lewis also added a 3-pointer in the first quarter, along with an 8-of-13 night from the free-throw line, four assists and two blocked shots. She had six steals in the first quarter.
This was the second straight win to start the season for the Lady Mustangs as they held HHS to 12 points in the first half for a 37-12 advantage at the half.
The third frame was all LC as well as they added 13 points to their lead, and for good measure, LC totaled 13 more points in the final eight minutes. HHS scored 10 points total in the final two quarters.
Shelby Stewart finished with 13 points, along with three 3-pointers, one rebound and two assists.

Morgan Fittro finished with 11 points (two 3-pointers), three rebounds, two assists and four steals.
Madysyn Creighton totaled six points with one rebound and one steal. Emma Setty totaled six points, three rebounds and two steals.
Ginny Gadzinski added two points and one rebound. Ali Little also added two points (three rebounds, one steal, two blocks).
Sarah Rosselott finished with two points, three rebounds, three assists and two steals. Sarah Spidel totaled two points and one steal. Brittany Allen contributed with two points and two rebounds.
Ryleigh Jackson had one rebound.
As a team, LC ended with six three-pointers and 32 rebounds, 24 steals, 11 assists and four blocked shots. LC committed 18 turnovers.
LC will play again on Thursday, Nov. 29 as they travel to West Union.
