DODSONVILLE — The Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs continue their dominance in the postseason, this time defeating the North Adams Lady Green Devils by a 4-0 score Tuesday night in the Division III SE District Semifinals.
The win against their Southern Hills Athletic Conference rival came at Lynchburg-Clay High School against more rain, but just like they did in the sectional finals, the Lady Mustangs overcame the weather elements and shut out their SHAC rival in the postseason.
In two postseason games, LC (16-1-1) has outscored their opponents 11-0, as they were the No. 1 seed in the district. In their regular-season finale, LC defeated North Adams, 4-1.
"Our defense was outstanding to hold them scoreless. We didn't allow many shots, and the ones we allowed didn't cause me any great concern," LC head coach Dennis West said. "Our offense had one of the better passing games we've had this year.
"The movement of the ball was excellent and was really pleased with how our entire team played. It was a good performance by all of them."
NA ends the season at 12-6-1 overall.

"The district finals is a goal we have every year," West said. "There are years when you just want to make it to the districts, and then there are other years where you make the districts and expect to do something.
"This group has been one of those groups that you expect good things from them by the way they play and the way they perform on the field. They are just excellent soccer players, as individuals and they mesh together as a team as good as any team I've coached ... boys or girls."
Last season, LC defeated West Muskingum in the regional semifinals by a 4-1 score. In the district final in 2013, LC defeated Bishop Rosecrans by a 1-0 score at WMHS.
