LEESBURG — The Fairfield Lady Lions again dominated a Southern Hills League opponent with a decisive 14-1 victory over the Ripley Lady Blue Jays Friday night at FHS.

Lauren Larrick tossed a two-hitter to pick up her eighth win of the season. Senior catcher Whitney Hanenkrat hit her second home run of the season in as many days. The hot-hitting Courtney Huff collected two more hits Friday to lead the Lady Lion offense.

FHS (8-5, 7-0 SHL) took an early 2-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning. Larrick singled down the right field line to lead off the inning, and courtesy runner Lizzie Jones entered the game to run for the starting pitcher.

Sirenity Smith laid down a sacrifice bunt, and Jones raced clear to third base. Halie Chain was hit by a pitch and stole second base. Both runners scored on wild pitches.

Fairfield scored five more runs in the bottom of the third inning on two hits.

Meanwhile, Larrick and the Lady Lions defense went perfect through the first three innings, facing only nine batters. Larrick struck out six consecutive hitters.

The Lady Blue Jays (3-3, 3-2 SHL) scored a run in the top of the fourth inning on two hits. With runners on first and third and one out, Larrick struck out the next batter, and Whitney Hanenkrat threw out a Lady Blue Jay runner on an attempted steal of second base, converting an inning-ending double play.

FHS put the game out of reach with seven runs in the bottom of the fourth inning.
