Lady Indians earn 4th win of season

GOSHEN — Using two productive middle quarters, the Hillsboro Indians earned their fourth win of the season on Tuesday, defeating non-league foe Goshen, 44-41 at GHS.
The Lady Indians (4-15) led after the first quarter at 9-6, and after each team scored 16 points in the second frame, HHS led 25-22 at the half.
HHS collected 14 points in the third while their defense held the Lady Warriors to a 10-point third frame.
GHS outscored the visiting Lady Indians 9-5 in the final quarter.
The Lady Indians also shot 51 percent from the free-throw line as they finished 18-of-35, compared to GHS, who were 7-of-10.
Hillsboro was led in scoring by the duo of Kaylynn Bell and Trista Rhodes with 13 points each. Bell made four two-point buckets and was 5-of-8 from the free-throw line. Rhodes also made four field goals, along with a 5-of-10 performance from the free-throw line.
Danielle Gillman added eight points, while teammates Taylor Moberly and Carey Juillerat each scored three points. Whitney Earley and Hannah Kibler each scored two points.
Leading GHS was Turner with 10 points.
HHS has one regular-season game remaining, a South Central Ohio League game against Clinton-Massie on Saturday, Feb. 11 at CMHS.
HHS will play their opening round tournament game on Monday, Feb. 13, when No. 9 Hillsboro faces No. 8 Circleville (4-15) at Adena High School with a start time of 7 p.m.
