Lady Indian track wins Western Brown Invitational

MT. ORAB — The Hillsboro Lady Indians were the winners of the 2012 Western Brown Invitational, Tuesday at WBHS.

The Lady Indians outscored the other seven teams with 174 points, and in second place was Western Brown with 119 points.

As for the boys meet, the Indians finished in second place with 142 points. The winner of the boys meet was Western Brown with 162 points.

First-place finishes for the HHS girls included: the HHS 4x800m relay; Hannah Kibler in the 100m dash, 200m dash, 4x200m relay and 4x100m relay; Taylor Stanforth, 300m hurdles; and Brittany Ferrell, 800m run and the 4x400m relay.

As for the times in those first-place finishes for the Lady Indians, the Lady Indians won the 4x800m relay with a time of 10:38.73. Kibler won the 100m dash at 13.34 and won the 200m dash with a time of 27.22.

The girls won the 4x200m relay at 1:52.50 and the 4x100m relay at 52.97. Stanforth won the 300m hurdles at 50.41, and Ferrell was the winner of the 800m run at 2:28.11. The 4x400m relay was won with a time of 4:18.05.

First-place finishes for the HHS boys included: 4x800m relay; 4x100m relay; Michael Theobold, 400m dash; David Abernathy, 300m hurdles; Jarrod Hart, 800m run; and Collin Rothwell, 3200m run and the 4x400m relay.

The boys won the 4x800m relay with a time of 8:27.17 and the 4x100m relay at 46.74. Theobold won the 400m dash at 54.81, and Abernathy was the winner of the 300m hurdles with a time of 43.23.

Hart was the winner of the 800m run at 2:03.64, and Rothwell won the 3200m run at 10:33.34. The Indians won the 4x400m relay at 3:41.03.

Final team standings in the girls meet were: 1, HHS, 174; 2, Western Brown, 119; 3, Felicity-Franklin, 53; 4, Eastern Brown, 46; 5, Georgetown, 40; 5, Goshen, 40; 7, Batavia (Amelia), 39; 8, Batavia, 6.

Final team standings in the boys meet were: 1, Western Brown, 162; 2, HHS, 142; 3, Georgetown, 95; 4, Batavia, 54; 5, Goshen, 26; 6, Western Brown (B), 19; 7, Eastern Brown, 14; 8, Batavia (Amelia); 9, Felicity-Franklin, 4.
