Juillerat collects double-double as SSCC falls to MU-H

The Southern State women's basketball team faced, to date, the best team on their schedule, resulting in a 102-60 loss at the Patriot Center on Wednesday to Miami University-Hamilton.
MU-H (14-2) shot over 65 percent for the game.
[[In-content Ad]]SSCC (3-10) got off to a slow start, falling behind 23-8 during the first half, but as the half came to a close they trailed by a 46-33 deficit.
After halftime, the numbers of the visitors become too much, as Hamilton played 15 players, with 14 scoring, as they are an up-tempo team.
SSCC showed some fight in the second half but could not get enough defensive stops, as they allowed 58 points in the final 20 minutes.
Megan Sword (Fairfield) led SSCC with 16 points
Haley Bingamon (Whiteoak) and Kelsey Juillerat (Hillsboro) each had 13 points, while Juillerat also grabbed 10 rebounds, recording her second straight double-double.
Mercedes Grisham (Ripley) added 12 points, while Jessica Sexton (Peebles) scored five points and Ashley Crone (Whiteoak) finished with one point.
The women's team travels to Ohio University-Lancaster on Saturday, Jan. 19 at 4 p.m. Next Wednesday, Jan. 23, SSCC travels to Miami-Middletown starting at 5:30 p.m.
