Indians tennis defeats Miami Trace for SCOL win

The Hillsboro boys tennis team were winners on April 30 as they defeated the Miami Trace Panthers 3-2 at Hillsboro High School for a South Central Ohio League win.

Gaining victories for the Tribe were Alex Rhoads in second singles, Patrick Shanahan in third singles and the first doubles duo of Christian Gunderman and Ryan Palmer.

The second singles win by Rhoads came as he defeated Travis Sollars at 7-5, 7-6. Shanahan defeated Danielle Straathol 6-3, 6-2 in third singles.

In the first doubles match, Gunderman and Palmer were winners at 6-3, 6-4 over Alex Moore and Blake Pitstick.

In first singles, Reese Leibreich (HHS) was defeated by Landon Gibbs in three sets at 4-6, 6-2, 4-6.

In second doubles, the HHS duo of Zach Basford and Michael Gunderman were defeated by Bryce Pitstick and Justin Haldeman 0-6, 0-6.
