Indians tennis defeats Miami Trace

In their past three matches, two in South Central Ohio League play, the Hillsboro Indians defeated the Miami Trace Panthers but fell to the Western Brown Broncos and to the London Red Raiders.
 
On Thursday (April 12), the Indians topped the MT Panthers by a 4-1 score for a SCOL win.
 
In first singles, Reese Leibreich of HHS defeated Landon Gibbs in three sets, losing set one 1-6 but rallying for set wins of 6-4 and 6-3.
 
In third singles, Zach Basford (HHS) defeated Danielle Strathol 6-6, 7-5 and 6-4.
 
The lone singles loss came when Christian Gunderman (HHS) fell to Travis Sullers 1-6, 3-6.
 
In first doubles, Hillsboro's Alex Rhoads and Patrick Shanahan defeated Alex Moore and Blake Pitshild by scores of 6-2, 6-0.                                                    

In second doubles, Hillsboro's Ryan Palmer and Brendan Eltzroth defeated Bryce Pitshild and Justen Haldemer 6-6, 7-0, 5-7, 6-4.
 
Against WB on April 11, the Indians lost 2-3 as a team.
 
Gaining wins for HHS were Leibreich in first singles and Alex Rhoads in second singles. Leibreich won over Mecree Kidwell 6-2, 7-5. In second singles, Rhoads won over Brandon Elliott 6-2, 6-1.
 

[[In-content Ad]]In third singles, Patrick Shanahan lost in two sets (3-6, 4-6) to Jeremy Black.
 
In doubles matches, Christian Gunderman and Eltzroth lost in two sets 3-6, 1-6 in first doubles. In second doubles, Michael Gunderman and Palmer lost in two sets by scores of 0-6, 2-6.
 
On April 10, HHS lost 2-3 to London in SCOL play.
 
Winning matches for HHS were Leibreich in first singles and the team Rhoads and Shanahan won in first doubles.
 
Leibreich won by scores of 6-1, 6-1 over Kyle Weese of LHS.
 
Rhoads and Shanahan won over Drew Saliers and Tyler Cox by scores of 6-2, 6-1.
 
In second singles, Eltzroth lost in straight sets to Jack Spahn, and in third singles, Basford fell in straight sets to Jacob Clark 5-7, 0-6.
 
In second doubles, Christian Gunderman and Palmer lost to Eli Gladman and Colin Dach in two sets 5-7, 1-6.
