Indians stay undefeated in SCOL

HILLSBORO — After 11 days without a match, the Hillsboro Indians returned back to form as they continued their undefeated ways in the South Central Ohio League as they defeated the Madison-Plains Golden Eagles 5-1 Tuesday at Richards Memorial Field.
With last week being the week of the Highland County Fair, the Indians didn't have any games on the schedule, and on Tuesday, they returned to the field with three goals in the first half and two more in the final 40 minutes.
For HHS, Trey Moberly was first to score around the 25:00 mark with the assist from Daniel Theobold.

The next two goals in the first half were by Jarrod Hart and Connor Ernst, who scored his first career varsity goal for a 3-1 halftime advantage.
In the second half, Patrick Shannahan and Brandon Carter put HHS ahead by four goals.
The win moves HHS to 3-1-2 overall and 3-0-2 in the SCOL with wins over Miami Trace, McClain and Madison-Plains. Their tied scores were against Washington and Clinton-Massie.
Next for HHS is a home match on Tuesday, Sept. 18 as they host the Washington Blue Lions, whom they tied 2-2 at Gardner Park earlier this season. In that game, the Indians trailed by a 2-0 score in the second half.
