Indians place 1st at Milford Invitational

For two days this past weekend, the Hillsboro Indians wrestled their way to a tournament win, this time winning at the 2013 Milford Invitational, defeating 17 other schools for the tournament win.
The Indians scored 209 points to secure the top spot, followed by Sycamore in second with 195 points and New Richmond in third at 147 points.
As for the Indians, gaining first place in their respective weight classes were Brandon Carter at 106 pounds, Matt West (112), Ryan Kelley (113) and Kordell Ford (152).
All four HHS wrestlers who won their weight classes finished 4-0 for the two-day event.

In their first-place matches, Carter (106) won by a 4-1 decision over Andy Clolinger of Amelia. West (113) defeated L.J. Brant by major decision, 13-3.
Kelley won via major decision over Austin Barrett (Winton Woods), 12-2, and Ford (152) won by a 7-3 decision over A.J. Kowal of Princeton.
Earning second-place finishes were Dillon Hunick (132), Craig Jackson (138) and Connor Johnston (160). Drew Huffman (182) and Darian Schumacher (170) placed fourth in their weight classes. Cody Whaley (126) was sixth.
HHS will wrestle again on Thursday, Jan. 31 as they host a South Central Ohio League tri-match with Clinton-Massie and Washington visiting HHS for the Tribe's second and final home meet of the season.
