HILLSBORO — The Hillsboro Indians rebounded from a loss earlier this week, as they defeated the first-place London Red Raiders, 5-4 Wednesday at Shaffer Park in South Central Ohio League play.
The win puts the Indians one game back in the standings with the season nearing the ending point. HHS stands at 8-3 in the SCOL and 11-8 overall. LHS is 9-2 in the SCOL. If HHS can defeat Madison-Plains on Friday and the Red Raiders fall in their final SCOL game of the season, the Indians and Red Raiders will tie for the league baseball title.
[[In-content Ad]]HHS scored three runs in the first inning and equaled a run by the Red Raiders in the fifth for a 4-1 lead.
LHS tied the game in the top of the sixth at 4-4 with a three-run inning, but the Indians walked off in the bottom of the seventh for the 5-4 win.
Each team finished with six hits and three errors.
