Hillsboro Lady Indians fall to Miami Trace and Blanchester

     The Hillsboro lady Indians were unable to keep down the one-loss Miami Trace Panthers Friday night as the Lady Panthers defeated HHS 52-27 at Hillsboro High School in South Central Ohio League play.

     HHS was outscored 28-10 in the first half, with HHS scoring six points in the first quarter and four in the second, while MT netted 11 in the opening eight minutes and 17 in the second.

     Each team scored 11 points in the third and MT out scored the Lady indians 13-6 in the final frame.

     HHS was led by Heather Storer with seven points. Storer made three shots from the field and one free throw. Megan Barnes netted six points, with two baskets and two free throws. Paij Shelton, Annemarie Stamper and Jenni Willey each scored four points. Shelton made one 3-pointer. Shelby Coule was 2 of 3 from the free-throw line for two points.

     HHS finished 6 of 14 from the free-throw line, while the Lady Panthers were 12 of 19.

     MT was led by Ashley Lawson with a game-high 18 points. Jenna Cobb finished with 11 points for MT.

     The loss puts HHS at 1-15 overall, 1-9 in the SCOL.

     HHS will take on the Whiteoak Lady 'Cats Monday at WHS.

     BLANCHESTER - On Thursday, Jan. 28 the Lady Indians dropped a non-league game to the Blanchester Lady Wildcats 42-22 at BHS.

     HHS trailed 12-7 after the first quarter and 22-9 after the second. BHS out scored the Lady Indians 9-6 in the third and 11-7 in the fourth.

     HHS was led by Shelby Coyle with five points, followed by Annemarie Stamper and Heather Storer with four points each.

     Paij Shelton, Megan Barnes and Jenni Willey each netted three points.

     Barnes and Shelton each made a 3-pointer in the loss to the Lady 'Cats.

     Wiseniewski led all scorers with 11 points.

     Hillsboro was 2 of 8 from the 3-point line.
