Hillsboro 8th grade baseball team improves to 6-0

The Hillsboro eighth grade baseball team continued their winning ways on Sunday, April 1, improving to 6-0 against Leesburg.

The first game was highlighted by Nathan Goolsby and Wyatt Condo teaming up for a no-hitter with 13 strikeouts.    

Offensively, Hillsboro banged out 13 hits. Goolsby had a triple and a three-run home run. Also tallying hits were Ethan Adkins (2-for-5), Chase Colliver (2-for-3) and Dylan Rhoads (2-for-4), along with hits from Travis Wehrung, Jesse Walker, Andrew Palmer and Jacob Schlater.

In the second game, Walker, Rhoads and Christian Greene teamed up on the mound, surrounding just three hits to the Lions. The young Indians added 13 more hits for a total of 26 hits on the day.

Goolsby kept up his offensive production, going 2-for-4 with a double. Also contributing this were Wehrung (2-for-2), Ryan Hagan (2-for-3), Walker (2-for-3 with a triple), D.J. Brown, Greene, Adkins and Schlater.

Hillsboro will next travel to play Oak Hill in two weeks.
