HHS, MHS boys among top three finishers at SCOL Championships

GREENFIELD - The McClain Tigers finished second in the 2010 South Central Ohio League meet, which they hosted for two days at McClain Field in Greenfield, trailing winner Clinton-Massie by 36.50 points.
The Hillsboro Indians boys team finished in third with 100 points. London was fourth with 91 points, followed by Miami Trace who totaled 76 points. The Blue Lions of Washington finished sixth with 63.50, and Madison-Plains was seventh with 60 points.
Clark Melvin of Miami Trace won the 110-meter hurdles finals with a time of 16.00. Quade Mullenix (HHS) was third at 17.26. Nathan Mess (MHS) was seventh at 17.79.
In the 100m dash, Justin Hoosier (LHS) was first with a time of 11.45. Mason Hunick (HHS) was third at 11.83. Zach Matracia (MHS) finished fifth at 11.91, and Anthony Parker (HHS) was sixth at 12.12.
The 1600m SCOL champion was Myles Corcoran (CM) at 4:28.14. McClain's Jon McDonald was second at 4:32.02. Collin Rothwell (HHS) was seventh at 4:52.34. Caleb Mootispaw (MHS) finished 12th at 5:18.49, and Hillsboro's Conner Ernst had a time of 5:54.70.
In the 4x100 relay, the Indians were the winners with a time of 45.12. Running for HHS were Emanuel Turner, Anthony Parker, Mason Hunick and Christian Wildey. MHS was third with a time of 46.26. Running for the Tigers were Kameron Mace, Aaron Pryor, Zach Matracia and Jordan Goble.
In the finals of the 400m dash, MP's Derek Dingus was first with a final time of 51.57. Luis Rivas (MHS) was second at 51.89. Daniel White finished in fifth (55.23), and Ricky Coyle (HHS) was seventh at 55.94.
In the finals of the 300m hurdles, Matt Brown (CM) was first at 42.16. Nathan Mess (MHS) finished fourth at 43.93. Hillsboro's Davis Abernathy (HHS) gained an eighth place finish at 46.10.
Rob Kind (MT) won the 800m run at 2:01.65. Jarrod Hart (HHS) was fourth at 2:02.92, followed by Jon McDonald (MHS) in fifth at 2:02.93. Seth Darbyshire was seventh at 2:05.80, and Jimmy Free (MHS) was ninth at 2:14.78.
The 200m dash league champion was Justin Hoosier (LHS) at 23.29. Jordan O'Conner (HHS) was sixth (24.43), Aaron Pryor (MHS) finished seventh (24.58) and in eighth was Luis Rivas (MHS) at 25.78.
Myles Corcoran (CM) won the 3200m run at 10:07.54. Collin Rothwell (HHS) was third at 10:44.83. Caleb Mootispaw (MHS) finished fourth at 10:55.70. Chris Eltman (MHS) gained a ninth place finish at 11:49.84, followed in tenth by Nathan Boone at 11:52.56.
In the 4x400 relay, LHS was first place at 3:30.77. MHS (Jon McDonald, Daniel White, Luis Rivas, Guennar Reyer) finished third at 3:40.16. HHS was fourth at 3:40.56. Running for HHS were Seth Darbyshire, Emanuel Turner, Mason Hunick and Jarrod Hart.
In the high jump, McClain's Kameron Mace was first with a height of 6-00.00. Chris Parker (MHS) was ninth at 5-04.00. Jordan O'Conner (HHS), along with Christian Wildey each had a height of 5-02.00.
John Soales (MHS) won the shot put event with a distance of 43-06.00. Britt Wells (HHS) was second at 43-04.00. Chris Butler (HHS) was fourth (41-03.00) and Aaron Hamilton (MHS) was fifth at 40-10.50.
