The first annual Hannah Losey Memorial Softball Camp was held July 15-19 at Mitchell Park in Greenfield. Organizers of the event were Kendra Toney, John Losey and Beth Floyd, Wilmington College softball coach.

The event was put together as a fund-raiser for the Hannah Losey Memorial Scholarship Fund.

The goal of the camp was to teach fundamentals of the game to the participants which ranged from third grade to eighth-grade girls.

This year, there were 26 participants.

The camp was very structured with the intent to keep the girls moving and focused on what they were learning and to detour bad habits.

The camp ended with a cookout at the shelter house with family and friends and the presenting of awards.

Event organizers would especially like to thank all the sponsors and staff. Participants learned a few things and had a great time.

The camp will be held again next year.

"Keep us in mind for next year as a participant, child sponsor or camp sponsor," said members of the Hannah Losey Scholarship Fund Committee. They can be reached at (937) 403-8297 or (937) 205-3956 for information.
