Greenfield Middle School wrestles in SCOL Championships

On Saturday, Feb. 5, the Greenfield Middle School wrestling team competed in the South Central Ohio League championship tournament held at Madison-Plains High School.
The team that scored the most points would be crowned as SCOL champion. The wrestler that won each individual weight class would also be an SCOL champion.
The Tigers entered wrestlers in seven of the sixteen weight classes. Competing for team points would be very difficult.
The Washington Blue Lions won the team championship, and the Tigers finished in sixth place.
GMS's focus was on placing individuals.
The top four wrestlers in each weight class receive placement points for their team.
Four of their seven wrestlers placed in the top four.
Leading the team was Brendon Goble (172) placing second, and surpassing the 25 win mark on the season, with a current record of 26-5.
Three GMS wrestlers placed fourth: Jake Badgley (98), Ethan Paul (116), and Gabe Smith (134). During the tournament, Smith also passed the 20 win mark on the season. He is currently 21-13.
