It didn't matter that Hillsboro lost a lead in the sixth inning, because they bounced right back in the bottom of the seventh to earn their 10th win of the summer, defeating the Cincinnati Fury, 7-6 Tuesday evening.

The win at Richard Shaffer Park by Post 129 came in an unique way, with Ryan Inman scoring what was the game-winning run on an infield error.

Hillsboro's win puts them at 10-29 overall (3-7 in league play) on the season.

In the bottom of the first inning Hillsboro broke a 2-0 deficit against the Fury with two runs of their own, as Morgan Ryan took first on a fielder's choice, followed by Jared Halley taking first on a walk.

Zach Cox had a two-out single to score Ryan, and Isaiah Liggins batted in Tyler Williams (who pinch ran for Halley) with a two-out double for the 2-2 score.

Hillsboro took a 4-2 advantage with Joey Wilson crossing home plate in the inning. Liggins batted in Ryan with a base hit and Latrell Haithcock knocked in Wilson for the 4-2 advantage.

Post 129 added a sixth run to their total in the fifth inning with Cameron Spangler crossing home plate off a base hit by Jesse Walker. Spangler initially reached the bases with a one-out double to the wall in left-centerfield.

Spangler led Post 129 at the plate, finishing 3-for-4. Halley and Liggins each had multiple hits.

The top of the sixth saw the Fury score a "fury" of runs, crossing home plate four times to tie the score.

The winning pitcher was Inman in relief. Inman pitched 1.2 innings, allowing no runs on no hits or walks. Inman finished with one strikeout.

Wilson had the no-decision. In 5.1 innings Wilson allied four earned runs on six hits and no walks. He struck out seven.

Hillsboro will play again on Wednesday in a single game at Pickerington, starting at 6 p.m. They will finish the regular season Saturday and Sunday in home doubleheaders, with Lancaster visiting on Saturday, starting at 1 p.m. Sunday the Columbus Braves will wrap up the  Post 129 regular season with a twin bill starting at noon.

In the District tournament, the four-day tournament starts Monday, July 14 as Post 129 will face Chillicothe Post 757 in the opening round of the double-elimination tournament at VA Memorial Stadium at 1 p.m. in Chillicothe.

If Post 129 wins their first tournament game, they will play again on Monday night at 7 p.m. If they lose the tournament opener Post 129 will play on Tuesday at 1 p.m. (All district games will be held at VA Memorial Stadium).
