Falcons defend home court, defeat Indians

CLARKSVILLE — The fourth quarter wasn't kind to the Hillsboro Indians Friday night.

HHS, again, lost a lead after entering the fourth frame with the advantage, as they led 33-31 entering the fourth but lost the final eight minutes as they were outscored 18-3.

After the first quarter, the Falcons (8-2) led 14-10. In the second, the Indians outscored the host Falcons, 9-8, and in the third, HHS won the quarter, 14-9.

The loss drops HHS to 5-7 overall.

This is the sixth straight South Central Ohio League loss for the Indians. CM is undefeated in the league at 5-0, as both these teams will play again on Saturday night at HHS in a makeup game.

Leading the Indians in scoring was Jordan Captain with 10 points, followed by Zach Young with nine and Jarrod Hart with eight. Also scoring for HHS were Latrell Haithcock with six points and Reese Leibreich with three.

HHS made four 3-pointers with Leibreich, Hart, Young and Haithcock all making 3-pointers.

Cory Saddler led the Falcons with 17 points, followed by J.D. Curtsinger with 10 points.
