The Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) announced their Athletes of the Week Monday afternoon, and for the first time in her Outdoor Track & Field career and second time overall, Wilmington College sophomore Faith Duncan is the OAC Women's Track Athlete of the Week.
Duncan (Lebanon, Ohio/Lebanon HS) earned the first All-American honor of her Quakers career at the NCAA Division III Indoor Nationals meet in the 3000-meter run in March. She is looking to replicate this All-American effort in the spring.
She competed at Washington University in St. Louis on Thursday night at the Wash U Distance Carnival in the 5000-meter run. She finished the race in sixth place with a time of 16:34.92. This time was good for the Quakers program record in the event by over a minute.
She was only defeated by one Division III runner in Central College's Caroline McMartin at 16:29.11. McMartin's time is the best in Division III in the 5000 so far this season, with Duncan coming behind her in second.
The Quakers’ next meet is on Saturday morning, beginning at 10 a.m. at Berea College.
