A tough week for the McClain Tigers got a little tougher on Wednesday as the Tigers lost a late-inning lead and the game to the Clinton-Massie Falcons, 12-11, in Clarksville.
The Tigers (4-6, 7-11) led the game throughout and carried a nine-run lead into the bottom of the seventh, but the Falcons erupted for 10 runs to seal the amazing come-from-behind victory.
During that final frame, the Tigers committed three errors, walked five Falcon batters and gave up four hits in the South Central Ohio League contest. MHS has lost three SCOL games this week.
"Our kids are hurting after this one," MHS head coach Brandon Streitenberger said. "This one is going to sting for a long time, but they are a resilient bunch of young men, and we will find a way to bounce back."

Prior to that final frame, the Tigers had their own big inning, scoring eight runs in the top of the fifth, all coming with two outs. MHS also scored two runs in the third and one in the fourth.
CM also had one run in both the third and fourth innings.
The Tigers were led at the plate by Kyle Flora, who went 3-for-3. MHS totaled 10 hits as a team, while CM had nine.
Caleb Rayburn (0-2) suffered the loss for the Tigers as he was the third Tiger pitcher to see action in the seventh. Jordan Boles took the Tigers into the seventh before being replaced by Brent Shannon and then Rayburn.
McClain travels to No. 9 state-ranked Miami Trace on Friday for an SCOL contest.
