Crawford promoted to 9th-degree black belt

Grandmaster Rick Crawford was promoted to ninth-degree black belt on April 14.
Crawford assumed the role of head instructor of the Buckeye State Bushido Federation in 1986 upon the retirement of the late Soke Al Conaway. His career in the martial arts spans 45 years and is the highest-ranked black belt in the federation. It was the wish of the late Conaway that Crawford assume the “Sokeship,” or head of the organization, upon his death on April 4 at the age of 82.
