In the state title game, Running rushed for 101 yards on 18 carries and one TD. He averaged 5.6 yards per carry in his final high school game. Smart had an assisted sack in the state championship.

Smart will also play in the OHSFCA North-South Classic game on April 27, 2013 at Welcome Stadium in Dayton.
