CLASS to sponsor Cowan Lake youth fishing derby

The Cowan Lake Association of Sportsmen will sponsor a Youth Fishing Derby during the month of June. The derby is free and open to the public. No pre-registration is required.
Young people ages 3-17 may enjoy fishing at Cowan Lake, and any fish caught by a youth during the June derby will be measured and recorded at one of the following bait stores in the Cowan Lake area: South Shore Marina, 7379 Route 730; The Fishing Pole, 5071 West Route 350; or Trula's General Store, 384 West Route 350.

There will be six winners. Each winner will receive a $10 gift certificate good at one of the bait stores. Prizes will go to the winner in each of these six categories: biggest bluegill; biggest crappie; biggest catfish; biggest other; most fish entered; and youngest fisherman (minimum age 3 years, 0 months).
Fish must be caught in Cowan Lake only. All applicable Ohio laws must be obeyed. All youth 16 and older must have a valid Ohio fishing license. Licenses can be purchased at the participating bait stores.
