Case Western Reserve men’s basketball coach issued public reprimand

NCAA Press Release

The NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Committee recently issued a public reprimand to Case Western Reserve coach Todd McGuinness for comments made at a postgame news conference March 8.

After Case Western Reserve lost to Wisconsin-Platteville in a sectional game in the Division III men's basketball tournament, the committee reviewed comments by McGuinness and cited them as misconduct for being critical of the officiating and discrediting the championship.

NCAA Bylaw 31.02.3 defines misconduct as "any act of dishonesty, unsportsmanlike conduct, unprofessional behavior or breach of law, occurring from the time the championship field is announced through the end of the championship that discredits the event or intercollegiate athletics."
