With the 2024 Great Midwest Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) Summit held recently in Columbus, the Great Midwest SAAC Executive Board was voted upon by the SAAC members in attendance via a secret ballot during the annual business meeting.

After serving as Vice Chair last year, Camryn Pickerill, Ohio Dominican's SAAC President, has been voted as Chair for the conference's SAAC Executive Board. She will serve for the 2024-25 academic year.

Pickerill (Seaman, Ohio/Eastern Brown HS) is beginning her third year as SAAC President at Ohio Dominican, along with being a graduate student on the women's basketball team.

"Throughout my year as Vice Chair for the conference, I helped gather information from the institutions in the conference during our four video conferences, and lead the business meeting at our annual SAAC Summit," Pickerill shared. "The SAAC Summit is always a good way for students of all of the G-MAC institutions to interact and share ideas. Our community engagement was with Columbus Recreation and Parks. who is a strong partnership with ODU's SAAC as well.

“I am blessed with the opportunity to serve at the conference level again this year. I look forward to helping all student-athlete's voices to be heard throughout the next year as Ohio Dominican University's President and the Great Midwest's SAAC Chair."

Pickerill and her women's basketball teammate Madelyn Fearon, along with track & field student-athlete Kassydee Owens, represented ODU's SAAC at the summit this year.

At the SAAC summit, the group continued their partnership with the Columbus Recreation & Parks. Over 20 Great Midwest SAAC members traveled to the Willis Athletic Complex to spend time with youth campers. SAAC members split into groups and participated in various activities with campers for more than two hours. In addition to the community engagement activity, the SAAC members participated in discussions regarding sports wagering, financial literacy and life after athletics.

The G-MAC SAAC Executive Board will consist of the following positions for the 2024-25 academic year:

• Chair: Camryn Pickerill, Ohio Dominican

• Vice Chair: Kaelan Swallow, Cedarville

• Social Media Chair: Addie Delcamp, Northwood.
