Aroldis Chapman 'feels no pain' since injury

CINCINNATI — Cincinnati Reds closer Aroldis Chapman said he has "felt no pain" since being stuck by a line drive in a spring training game this month.
Speaking to the media through interpreter Tomas Vera, a Reds assistant trainer, Chapman said he felt proud during the 95th Findlay Market Parade as fans cheered him on and wished him well.
"I felt really happy and proud with the fans cheering for me," Chapman said. "I felt really happy to hear those things and couldn't ask for anything better.
"The people of Cincinnati have been great to me."
Chapman is currently on the disabled list following surgery to his face after being hit by a line drive off the bat of Kansas City Royals batter Salvador Perez in a spring training game on March 20 in Arizona.

Last season, in 68 games played (63.2 innings pitched), the Reds closer finished with 38 saves and 112 strikeouts with an ERA of 2.54 and a WHIP of 1.04.
Chapman hasn't begun working on any baseball activities since his injury.
"I haven't done anything … been resting and just waiting on the doctor to see me," he said. "It will be up to him when I'm able to begin.
"I don't really know how to express how I'm feeling … after all that happened. I never have any symptoms and no pain except for the moment I got hit. Other than that, no pain."
Chapman will see a doctor on Wednesday, he said.
"I'm not happy that I'm not playing but happy that I am here," Chapman said.
