WHS scores 20 runs in win over Ripley

Scoring 20 runs in the first three innings, followed by two final runs in the fifth, the Whiteoak Wildcats won big on the road in Southern Hills Athletic Conference action, defeating the Ripley Blue Jays, 22-4 Friday (April 26) at RHS. 

From the start, it was a big offensive outburst by the Wildcats, scoring five runs in the top of the first, followed by a nine-run second inning and six runs in the top of the third for a 20-run lead. Ripley answered with four runs in the bottom of the fourth, only to have the Wildcats score two final runs in the top of the fifth for the victory. 

Ripley ended the game with two hits and six errors, while the Wildcats had 14 hits and one error. 

Jacob Kiley finished 3-for-3 with two runs and four RBI. Dakota Clift was 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, two doubles and one walk. 

Christian Hite finished 2-for-2 with two runs, four RBI, one double, three walks and a steal. 

Jacen Applegate was 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, one double and two walks. Caden Butler finished the game 1-for-1 with one RBI, and teammate Izayah Clift was 1-for-1 with two runs and a walk. 

Jonah Michael collected two runs, two RBI, one walk, one SAC, one HBP and a steal. Zane Mitchell was 1-for-1 at the plate, scoring a run. Kaden Moon-Stone was 1-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, one double, a walk and a hit by pitch. 

Zander Roades ended the game at 1-for-2 with two runs, one RBI and a walk. Eli Roberts was 1-for-3, scoring three runs, one walk, one HBP and a steal. Camron Storms collected two runs and two walks. 

Applegate was the winning pitcher, finishing with four innings pitched, allowing four runs (two earned) on two hits and five walks, with eight strikeouts. 

Michael pitched one inning, allowing no hits and walking one batter with three strikeouts.
