Whiteoak Lady ’Cats win at Ripley

The Whiteoak Lady Wildcats earned their second win of the 2024-25 season by going on the road and defeating the host Ripley Lady Blue Jays, 58-45 on Thursday night (Dec. 5).

Whiteoak scored 23 points in the first quarter, while Ripley had a 12-point first quarter for an 11-point lead after eight minutes.

WHS won the second frame at 11-8 for a halftime lead over the Lady Blue Jays 34-20.

In the third quarter, WHS added 11 points and Ripley scored 12 points, then in the fourth quarter each team scored 13 points.

Addison Roberts led Whiteoak with 17 points, totaling five two-point baskets and she was 7-of-8 from their free-throw line.

Kylee Hamm followed with 15 points, making six two-point baskets and one 3-pointer.

Other final scoring for WHS included: Addy Hauke (nine - three 3-pointers),  Jillian Lucas (nine - one 3-pointer), Torie Potts (six) and Charli Hauke (two).

As a team, WHS finished with 16 two-point baskets, five 3-pointers, and they were 11-of-14 from the free-throw line. RHS went 5-of-9 from the free-throw line.

Ripley was led in scoring by Raquel Hackney with 22 points and Brooklyn Manning with 13 points.

The win improves Whiteoak to 2-1 overall, and they are also 2-1 in the SHAC Division II standings.

Next for the Lady ‘Cats is a SHAC game on Monday, Dec. 9 on the road at Fairfield High School against the Lady Lions at 6 p.m.
