Whiteoak Lady ’Cats bow out of postseason play; fall to Eastern Meigs

In their Division IV SE District Sectional Final game on Wednesday (May 10), the Whiteoak Lady Wildcats lost in the first-round game, falling to the host Eastern Meigs Lady Eagles, 5-2.
Whiteoak scored the first run of the game in the top of the third inning, only to see Eastern score two runs in the bottom of the same inning for a 2-1 WHS deficit.
Eastern went on to score one run in each of the next three innings, and WHS scored their final run in the top of the seventh inning.
The Lady ’Cats totaled six hits and committed one error, while Eastern had eight hits and no errors.
Molly McMullen finished 2-for-2 with two RBI, two walks, a triple and a steal. Jaylie Parr went 2-for-3 with a run, a walk and a steal.
Addison Roberts was 1-for-3 for WHS, scoring a run and drawing one walk. Teammate Lilly Leston finished 1-for-4.
Madison Davidson collected a steal, and Elena Limon forced a walk.
Bri Hill had the loss in the circle, allowing five runs (four earned) on eight hits and three walks in six innings. Hill ended the game with six strikeouts.
WHS ends the season at 7-13 overall.
